They grow apart to the point where they separate, but rediscover each other again in a chance meeting.

Chip is convinced it’s a scam, but Dale doesn't believe him. Instead, he joins the carollers as their lead singer. / It's the festive season and Dale is hosting a big dinner. As the guests begin to arrive Chip discovers that Clarice was also invited. An old argument between the two causes tensions to rise so it’s up to Dale to keep the peace.
