	The Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, also known simply as Tafelmusik, is a Toronto-based Canadian baroque orchestra, specialised in early music. The ensemble is directed by violinist Jeanne Lamon. In 'The Galileo Project: Music of the Spheres' they perform music by Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Bach and Handel to a backdrop of high-definition images from the Hubble telescope, NASA and Canadian astronomers.

	Mezzo soprano Magdalena Kožená does not only make the heavenly joys resound in the final movement of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4, earlier in the concert, she devotes herself to the seraphic beauty and intimate simplicity of Mahler's Rückert Lieder. Practically all songs that Mahler composed prior to 1900 were based on texts from Des Knaben Wunderhorn, a collection of folk poems published by Clemens Brentano and Achim von Arnim.

	On 14 November 1987, conductor Simon Rattle made his Berlin Philharmonic debut with Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 6. In retrospect Rattle says that he felt like he was finding his voice that day. Mahler's multifaceted work is now again on the program when Sir Simon appears for the last time as chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic in the Philharmonie in 2018.

	The Zadig Trio was born when two childhood friends from France, Boris Borgolotto, and Marc Girard Garcia, joined musical forces with American Ian Barber. Today, they have received several international prizes at international competitions in France, Italy, Austria and USA. In this 2017 concert from the Auditorium St Pierre des Cuisines in Toulouse, France, the trio interpret several pieces by Russian composers.

	The Vienna Philharmonic performs Symphony No. 6 in F major, op. 68 by Ludwig van Beethoven under the direction of Leonard Bernstein. This 1979 concert was filmed in the great hall of Vienna's legendary Musikverein. Beethoven composed his Symphony No. 6 between 1802 and 1808. Nicknamed Pastoral Symphony, this piece is one of the few examples of program music in the work of the German composer.
