    Resisting Russia: Ukraine's Shadow Army

    When Russian forces invaded Kherson in southern Ukraine at the very start of the war, crowds poured onto the streets in protest. Their defiance in the face of armed troops became a symbol of Ukraine's spirit of resistance, until the soldiers cleared the streets and began detaining anyone they suspected of supporting Ukraine. Many people have since fled the region for safety.

    Israel's military has been carrying out arrest raids in the occupied West Bank, a frequent event since a wave of deadly attacks by Palestinians against Israelis. Dozens of Palestinians have been killed during army incursions, and the UN's human rights office has raised concerns over `excessive force' and `possible collective punishment'. Israel has rejected such accusations. The focus has been on Jenin refugee camp, home to several militant groups and where attackers have come from.
