    J.S. Bach - Organ Concerts

    Beethoven

    Beethoven began his second set of three sonatas, Op. 10 (No. 5-7) in 1796, and they were published by Joseph Eder two years later. The first sonata is in three movements, the C minor outer movements flanking an expressive Adagio molto in A flat major. This performance is taken from Daniel Barenboim's highly esteemed complete rendition of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas, recorded at the Schloss Hetzendorf, Vienna, Austria, in 1983.

    Bruckner

    In a 2019 performance from the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven, Hartmut Haenchen conducts the philharmonie zuidnederland for this performance of Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 7. The German-born conductor, who became a Dutch citizen through naturalisation, was chief conductor at the Dutch National Opera, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra before he was finally knighted for his services to the Dutch music landscape.
