    Stravinsky - Symphony of Psalms

    This live from performance from 2017 marks Fabio Luisi's very first concert with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in DR Koncerthuset, Copenhagen. Beethoven's fantastic Eroica symphony is a milestone in classical music, and with Stravinsky's mighty Symphony of Psalms and Strauss' virtuosic Don Juan, this production fully demonstrates the unique chemistry between Fabio Luisi and the orchestra of which he today is the celebrated Chief Conductor.

    Trios: Tchaikovsky, Op. 50 & Shostakovich, Op. 67

    The Zadig Trio was born when two childhood friends from France, Boris Borgolotto, and Marc Girard Garcia, joined musical forces with American Ian Barber. Today, they have received several international prizes at international competitions in France, Italy, Austria and USA. In this 2017 concert from the Auditorium St Pierre des Cuisines in Toulouse, France, the trio interpret several pieces by Russian composers.

    Stravinsky

    Few premieres will have been as troublesome as that of Igor Stravinsky's ballet `Le Sacre du Printemps'. The ballet, written for Sergey Diaghilev's Ballets Russes with choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky, tells the story of a young girl that literally has to dance herself to death as a sacrifice to the sun god, but it was not met with much understanding among its 1913's listeners.

    Ballet on Ice: Nutcracker 2011

    This stunning performance of theatrical ice dancing brings viewers into the enchanting world of Tchaikovsky's magnificent holiday classic, The Nutcracker On Ice, performed by the internationally renowned Imperial Ice Stars, and including former champion figure skaters, Vadim Yarkov and Olga Sharutenko. This very special performance and soundtrack was performed by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tim A Duncan, and filmed live in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011.

    Schubert

    Ester Hoppe, Christian Poltéra and Francesco Piemontesi perform Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2, Op. 100 (D. 929) during the International Chamber Music Festival in Bellinzona, Switzerland in 2019. This trio was among the last compositions completed by Schubert and is dated November 1827. It was published in late 1828, shortly before Schubert's death, and first performed in January 1828 to celebrate the engagement of Schubert's friend Josef von Spaun.

    Tchaikovsky

    Rossini

    Rossini's popular work - which was first performed in 1816 at the Teatro Argentina in Rome - contains some of opera's most tuneful and recognisable music - from its lively overture to Figaro's Largo al factotum to Rosina's Una voce poco fa. Based on the play of the same title by the French dramatist Beaumarchais (1732-1799), the opera is a delightful rigmarole of riotous situations in a race to win the hand of the young Rosina.
