| The French big band `Le Sacre du Tympan' was founded by bassist and composer Fred Pallem. Pallem's oeuvre is strongly influenced by the music of as diverse a range of composers as André Popp, Charles Ives, Duke Ellington and Neil Young. The wide variety of his musical sources of inspiration can be found in the progressive jazz music played by the big band. A large part of this 17-man band studied at the jazz department of the Paris Conservatory. | |||||
