Teus Nobel Live at the Bimhuis: Legacy |

| Teus Nobel is a Dutch trumpet and flugelhorn player. As a little boy, he was inspired by 'power' trumpeters such as Maynard Ferguson and Bill Chase. The broadcast was recorded at the Amsterdam BIMhuis. Teus dedicates his compositions to his all-time heroes Jarmo Hoogendijk, Woody Shaw, Christian Scott, Roy Hargrove and Eric Vloeimans. The performance is based on his second album 'Legacy'. | |||||

Céu: Moods |

| Brazilian singer-songwriter Maria do Céu Whitaker Poças, better known as Céu, grew up in a musical family. She studied music theory and plays the acoustic guitar known as the 'violão'. Her debut album, CéU, received a Grammy nomination in the category 'Best Contemporary World Music Album' in 2008. In the years that followed, Céu received several other nominations and awards. Her music reveals traces of samba, soul, African music, pop, and electrojazz. In this 2017 concert, Céu is accompanied by David Bovée (guitar), João Leão (keyboard), Lucas Martins (bass), and Thomas Harres (drums). This performance was recorded at Jazz Club Moods in Zurich, Switzerland. | |||||

| Nordic afro jazz project 'We Are Birds' saw the light between Finland and Africa, during a 2010 jam session in which Finnish jazz pianist Tuomas A. Turunen met African drummer-percussionist and urban griot Dimitri Reverchon. The two composers set their mind to exploring this hybrid genre, and found their perfect complement in bassist Emmanuel Soulignac, who brought his pop influences to the table. | |||||

| Louis Armstrong made assorted television appearances, especially in the 1950s and 1960s - the recorded film was a TV Show in Australia when Armstrong was at the peak of his career. Armstrong kept up his busy tour schedule until a few years before his death in 1971. He also toured Africa, Europe, and Asia under sponsorship of the US State Department with great success, earning the nickname 'Ambassador Satch'. | |||||
