    Beethoven

    Israeli violinist Itzhak Perlman and the Berlin Philharmonic perform the Violin Concerto, Op 61 by Ludwig van Beethoven under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. Beethoven dedicated his Violin Concerto to his colleague Franz Clement, a prominent violinist of the time. The piece was presented in Vienna in 1806 and was only interpreted a handful of times during the following decades.

    Dina Ivanova (1994, Russia) performs `La notte' (S377a) and `Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12', (S379a) during semi-final II (chamber music) of the 11th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, held in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht, in 2017. The competition actively presents, develops, and promotes piano talents from around the world. In doing so, it has become one of the prominent gateways to the international professional classical music scene for young musicians.

    Sylvain Cambreling conducts the Choir and Orchestra of the Paris Opera in a performance of Sergei Prokofiev's The Love for Three Oranges, Op. 33, also known by its French -language title L'amour des trois oranges. The satirical opera by Prokofiev was based on the Italian play L'amore delle tre melarance by Carlo Gozzi and premiered at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, on 30 December 1921.

    Elgar: Concerto for Cello, Op. 85
