| Ever since the Dutch singer Kim Hoorweg received her first record contract from Universal Music at the age of fourteen, her musical career took off and Hoorweg became a well-known name in the Netherlands jazz community. A number of famous artists: Candy Dulfer, Raul Midón, Metropol Orkest, or Gino Vannelli, to name a few, performed with the singer on numerous occasions. | |||||

| Among the bands performing at jazzahead! 2022 is the Antoine Boyer & Yeore Kim Quartet. French guitarist extraordinaire Antoine Boyer and dazzling Korean harmonica player Yeore Kim met in 2018 at the Gypsy Jazz Festival of Taipei. The two quickly devised a guitar and harmonica duet based on jazz and pop standards, following in the footsteps of Django Reinhardt, Toots Thielemans and many others. | |||||

| Nordic afro jazz project 'We Are Birds' saw the light between Finland and Africa, during a 2010 jam session in which Finnish jazz pianist Tuomas A. Turunen met African drummer-percussionist and urban griot Dimitri Reverchon. The two composers set their mind to exploring this hybrid genre, and found their perfect complement in bassist Emmanuel Soulignac, who brought his pop influences to the table. | |||||
