    Jazzahead!

    One of the bands appearing at jazzahead! 2022 is the Jens Düppe Quartet. Drummer Jens Düppe, who was recruited by German free jazz trombone legend Albert Mangelsdorff in 2003, experiences a flourishing musical career. Born in Schwäbisch Gmünd in Southern Germany and now based in Cologne, Düppe leads a quartet with trumpeter Frederik Köster, pianist Lars Duppler and bassist Christian Ramond, whose atmospherically intense music earns rave reviews in the press.
