| Monty Alexander, born in Jamaica on D-Day. Monty Alexander rapidly left his native country for the United States. In New York, he regularly accompanied Frank Sinatra and performed in the jazz clubs of Manhattan (including the famous Minton's which was the birthplace of bebop) where Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Miles Davies did not miss a chance of hearing him play. After more than 50 years of a career crowned with collaborations with Tony Bennett, Nathalie Cole. | |||||
